Correct.
White 1 is the only move.
Black can try to expand his eye space with 2, but White
can calmly squeeze from the outside with 3.
After 5, White wins the liberty race.

Black variation.
Trying to create eye space with Black 4 doesn't work either.
Through 11, White connects underneath to capture the Black stones.
Black variation.
Black 2 is another attempt to create eye space, but White 3
is the correct play. Now White can easily atari the Black
group from the left and top sides though 9.
White failure.
White 1 is bad timing.
With 2, Black now has time to capture the White stone for
an internal eye. Though 13, White's attempt to win the semeai
are in vain. Black 14 puts White into atari.
