This problem is a fantastic exercise for reading out false eyes.

Solution follows    (or click here to download SGF)

Correct.
First, an inside play at 1 is necessary. White 5 (at 12) is the only move that works. White 7 is another inside play to prevent Black from making 2 eyes by playing there. Note that all of White's stones on the left are necessary for White to hane at 13. Otherwise, Black could escape toward the lower left corner. After White 15, Black is dead! For example, White fills the outside liberties, Black has to fill at A, but then White captures at B anyway.

Black variation.
Black can try to make a living shape immediately in the corner with 8. But White 9 and 11 show that Black is 1 liberty short.

Failure.
White 1 is bad timing. Black 4 shows that White's 1st play needlessly allows Black to cause mischief. If White blocks with 5 to keep Black from escaping up the right side, Black 12 sets up a ko and Black has 3 internal ko threats.

White variation.
If White keeps Black to 1 eye in the corner with 5, then Black squirts out up the right side. Unless White has help up the right side, Black escapes.
